Job Description

A circuit design engineer designs, tests, and optimizes electronic circuits, often for integrated circuits (ICs) or printed circuit boards (PCBs), by creating schematics, selecting components, performing simulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include circuit layout and verification, ensuring designs meet performance, power, and reliability specifications, and staying current with new technologies. Responsibilities

Circuit Design:

Develop analog and digital circuits based on product requirements, defining performance goals for power, area, and speed.

Schematic Creation:

Draw detailed schematics that outline component interactions and circuit functionality.

Component Selection:

Choose appropriate electronic components to meet design specifications and performance criteria.

Simulation & Analysis:

Use specialized software to simulate circuit performance, analyze potential issues, and optimize designs.

Layout Design:

Create physical layouts for ICs or PCB layouts, ensuring optimal performance and manufacturability.

Verification & Testing:

Conduct thorough testing and validation procedures to confirm circuit functionality and reliability.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work with systems architects, verification engineers, manufacturing teams, and firmware/software engineers to ensure project success.

Documentation:

Generate and maintain detailed design documentation for future reference and development.

Technology Monitoring:

Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in circuit design technology, industry trends, and new tools.
Key Skills & Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is typically required.

Design Software:

Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or Mentor Graphics for PCB design, or Cadence for IC design.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles, transistor-level design, and semiconductor physics.
