Role Overview
We are seeking a talented, creative, and technically skilled Cinematographer to join our team. As Cinematographer, you will be responsible for shaping the visual storytelling of our video productions -- from conceptualization through shooting to final delivery. You will collaborate closely with directors, creative leads, production staff, and post-production teams to ensure that every video we produce meets our quality standards and creative vision.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with Creative Director / Director / Producer to understand the creative vision and translate it into compelling visual storytelling.
Plan and execute camera work -- including selecting appropriate cameras, lenses, filters, compositions, angles, and movements -- to achieve the desired look and mood for each project.
Design and implement lighting setups tailored to each scene or environment (indoor, outdoor, studio, location-based) to create the right atmosphere for the shoot.
Scout and assess shooting locations (studio or on-site), conduct test shots, and plan for technical requirements (lighting, camera gear, weather/natural light, logistics).
Lead and supervise the camera crew (camera operators, assistants, lighting crew), coordinate all camera/lighting equipment, and manage on-set technical operations.
Ensure consistent visual quality throughout the shoot -- monitor framing, focus, exposure, continuity, color, and composition.
Collaborate with post-production team (editors, colorists) to ensure color grading, visual effects, and final output align with the original creative vision.
Maintain and manage all camera and lighting equipment -- ensure equipment is in working order, stored properly, and meet production standards.
Keep updated with latest cinematography techniques, equipment, and industry trends; implement best practices and suggest creative improvements / innovations to the creative team.
Skills & Qualifications
Formal education (e.g. Bachelor's degree) in Film, Cinematography, Photography, Media, Visual Arts, or a related field -- or equivalent hands-on experience.
Strong technical expertise in using different camera systems (digital/film), lenses, lighting gear, filters, tripod, stabilizers, and other cinematography equipment.
Excellent understanding of lighting techniques, composition, framing, depth of field, and color theory -- able to craft visuals that match mood/genre/brand aesthetic.
Familiarity with post-production processes: color grading, basic editing workflow, collaboration with editors and colorists -- to ensure final output matches' vision.
Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills -- comfortable working with directors, creative leads, production crew, clients; able to lead camera and lighting teams.
Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects/pan concurrent shoots, and adapt to varying shooting environments (studio, location, indoor/outdoor).
Creative vision, attention to detail, originality, and passion for visual storytelling -- ability to propose new visual styles and contribute to pre-production/brainstorming phases.
