The Cinematographer will be responsible for planning, shooting, and delivering high-quality video content that highlights daily school life, academic activities, sports, events, and various student engagements. The primary objective of this role is to produce a high volume of engaging videos that enhance brand visibility, support social media growth, and aid the admissions strategy.
The role requires strong technical expertise in camera operations, mobile videography, DSLR setups, lighting, stabilizers, and audio equipment. Basic video editing skills are essential to assist the editor whenever required.
Key ResponsibilitiesVideo Production
Capture high-quality video content across campus: classrooms, labs, sports fields, hostels, events, and day-to-day activities.
Shoot a high volume of short-form vertical videos suitable for Reels, YouTube Shorts, and similar platforms.
Ensure proper lighting, framing, composition, and audio quality in all footage.
Transfer raw footage daily to the editor, ensuring proper naming and file organization.
Coordination & Planning
Work closely with the marketing team to plan daily and weekly shoot schedules.
Coordinate with teachers, staff, and students to capture planned stories, activities, and spontaneous moments.
Support the marketing team during major campus events, open houses, competitions, and fairs.
Equipment Management
Handle and operate all video equipment including cameras, DSLRs, mobile rigs, gimbals, stabilizers, lights, and microphones.
Maintain, clean, and safeguard all equipment.
Ensure zero avoidable damage to any gear.
Editing Support
Assist with basic video editing when the primary editor is unavailable or during high-volume periods.
Use Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar tools for rough edits or quick-turnaround content.
Creative Development
Stay updated with social media video trends, transitions, and formats relevant to school-based content.
Identify moments and opportunities that can be turned into high-engagement or viral content.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Daily Output:
Minimum of 2 videos shot and delivered each day.
Turnaround Time:
All raw footage must be shot and submitted on the same day.
Video Rejection Rate:
Not more than 5 rejections per month due to issues with lighting, framing, or stability.
Content Volume:
Weekly minimum clip count (as defined by management).
Engagement:
Contribution to improved social media reach, views, watch time, and shares.
Reliability & Discipline:
Consistent submission of daily shoot logs and timely delivery of footage.
Equipment Handling:
No avoidable damage to any equipment or accessories.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a cinematographer, videographer, or similar role.
Proficiency in camera and DSLR operation, mobile videography, lighting setups, and audio capture.
Familiarity with gimbals, stabilizers, tripods, and other video accessories.
Basic editing skills using Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or mobile editing apps.
Creative eye for storytelling, composition, and capturing candid moments.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Owning personal professional equipment (camera, mic, gimbal, lights, etc.) is an added advantage.
