  • Job Purpose:
  • As a highly motivated Embedded Engineer, you are passionate about advanced battery controls and new concept development in the domain of electric vehicles and storage systems.
  • You will model, create, describe, and implement control and estimation algorithms in our Lithium-Ion batteries.
  • Architecting, constructing, and implementing BMS firmware, validation techniques, equipment, and automation will be your responsibility.
Job Responsibility:
  • Develop state-of-the-art feedback control and estimate algorithms for high voltage battery packs using a range of cell and battery pack models, fleet data, and laboratory test data.
  • Create and integrate models, write testing code, and evaluate the performance of algorithms throughout the life of the product.
  • Create physics-based modelling of cell, battery pack elements plus Simulation.
  • Develop and improve battery models to ensure accuracy in real-world vs. simulation scenarios
  • Create, test, and deploy cutting-edge algorithms for run-time BMS logic to compute State-of-Algorithms for Charge, State-of-Health, State-of-Power, and State-of-Energy and safe operation of Lithium ion batteries.
  • Ensuring adaptability to different parameterization requirements.
  • Work on development projects from cell capacity, impedance, energy, and degradation estimation to diagnostics of sensors, cells and battery pack components.
  • Along with creating strong, efficient firmware, your job is to ensure that the code quality is exceptionally high.
  • Multiple communication protocols like CAN bus - wired, wireless and power line.
  • Telematics interfaces and on-board data management.
  • Develop object-oriented SW-In-The-Loop infrastructure, with a high degree of re-use of current objects.
  • Develop a rapid test iteration framework for developers to use for quick spot checks at their desks.
  • Develop a "real-world" playback mechanism for field data, as well as data management too
  • Develop behavior models for numerous vehicle subsystems, including fault insertion abilities
  • Develop sophisticated battery ageing models that accurately reflect genuine cell ageing processes.
  • Your efforts to build and deploy various automated validation infrastructures will have a direct impact on the products' dependability and robustness, as well as on the customer experience.
  • You will work with the development and integration teams to design and test cutting-edge automated testing systems. These systems probe and validate the performance capabilities of our hardware and firmware
  • You will also play an important role in our future technology's roadmap, including support for new products, packs, cells, etc.
  • Travel: Overseas travel to JV partners for training, travel to customers and vendors with possible overnight stays.
  • Passport is must.
Qualification:

Degree in Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or Post-Graduation preferred or equivalent experience and exceptional ability.

Embedded System Skills:
  • Programming Languages: Embedded C, C++, in RTOS environment must.
  • Embedded Processors: 32 bit [ARM CM SERIES]/16 bit [PIC] /8 bit [8051/PIC/ATMEL] Texas Controllers would be plus.
  • Strong background with debugging tools
  • Experience in development of digital and analog interfaces
  • Knowledge in automotive networking (e.g. CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C) standards.
  • IDE: KEIL, MPLAB, CCS, ATMEL STUDIO
  • Embedded OS: KELRTX, MICLIRIUM OS, WIN CE
  • simulation Tools: Matlab, Power Sim
  • CANalyzer / CANape experience
  • Experience in schematic design & capture (Altium Designer)
  • Background with Simulink and modeling embedded designs
  • Scripting skills in at least one common language (Python, Perl, Shell)
  • Experience designing or interfacing with HIL / SIL test setups
  • Familiarity with Testing Software (LabView, TestStand, VeriStand)
  • Knowledge of source control (Git) and continuous integration
Desired Skill:
  • 5-8 years of industrial experience in microcontrollers and electronics controller development.
  • Strong skill set of Embedded technologies, microcontrollers and interfacing devices including.
  • Greater than 2 years of experience with battery algorithm design
  • Experience with modeling of lithium ion cells
  • Simulating dynamic models of electrical systems
  • Have knowledge in linear systems analysis and estimation algorithm design
  • Capable of analyzing algorithm performance in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Strong communication and preference for working in teams
  • Basic experience, understanding, and intuition for the electrochemical physics of lithium ion cells
  • Experience in specifying or executing tests on cells in a laboratory environment
  • Understanding of diagnostic techniques for cells and battery pack components
Working Conditions:

Second and Forth Saturday of a month is working
