plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the planning, implementation, and administration of the
Cambridge International curriculum (CIE)
across grades. The coordinator ensures academic rigor, compliance with Cambridge standards, and supports teachers and students for optimal performance in IGCSE and A-Level programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
Implement and oversee Cambridge programs (Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS & A Level).
Develop, review, and align the curriculum according to Cambridge International guidelines.
Facilitate curriculum enrichment programs to promote inquiry-based, student-centered learning.
Teacher Support and Training:
Guide and mentor Cambridge subject teachers with lesson planning, assessments, and teaching strategies.
Organize professional development workshops and ensure teachers stay updated with Cambridge methodologies and updates.
Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
Student Support:
Coordinate academic interventions, remedial programs, and extension activities for students.
Guide students and parents about subject selection, exam procedures, and academic expectations.
Monitor and track student performance in internal and external assessments.
Exam Coordination:
Serve as the
School Cambridge Exams Officer
(if required).
Handle registrations, forecast grades, conduct mock exams, and ensure smooth administration of external assessments.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to Cambridge International assessment protocols.
Communication and Compliance:
Act as the main point of contact between the school and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) board.
Ensure school compliance with Cambridge quality assurance policies and school self-evaluation processes.
Attend official Cambridge training sessions, workshops, and briefings and disseminate key information to the team.
Operational Management:
Maintain updated academic records, teacher reports, and exam documentation.
Work collaboratively with the leadership team on school-wide policies, academic calendars, and planning.
Assist in admissions by conducting orientation sessions about the Cambridge curriculum for prospective parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or relevant field.
Minimum
3-5 years of teaching experience
under the Cambridge curriculum; prior experience as a Cambridge Coordinator is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Cambridge Assessment International Education frameworks and standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to guide, inspire, and lead teachers and students toward excellence.
Proficiency in using digital platforms and Cambridge online systems.
Desirable Skills:
Certification in Cambridge Professional Development programs (e.g., Introductory or Extension Cambridge Training).
Hands-on experience with Cambridge Global Perspectives, Checkpoint exams, and Subject Moderations.
