Global Finance & Business Management ("GF&BM") India is a combined Line of Business-aligned (LOB-aligned) finance & business support team located in India and is part of JPMorgan's global capability center (GCC). We are part of the Office of the CFO (OCFO) organization within JPMorgan, which has 13000+ people across the globe, majority of whom are tasked with managing the firm's Finance function, responsible for reporting quarterly earnings and complying with regulatory requirements along with managing the firm's capital.

GF&BM India was established in September 2002 and currently we have a network of more than 3400+ professionals based out of our Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices who support four main "pillars" of work - Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations and Business Client & Products. The teams in India are aligned to the respective LOBs that they support which include Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Commercial Banking (CB), Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) and Corporate/Firmwide functions. The current opening is within the CIB GF&BM APAC Controllers in Bengaluru which forms part of the CIB LOB within GF&BM India.

About the Team

Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Finance & Business Management India is one of the first group to be set up in India in Global Finance and has since grown its presence across Mumbai & Bengaluru into a 800+ people organization. The group is accountable for diverse functional teams and has a significant footprint of the global Finance organization supporting Corporate Investment Banking business and regulators across all regions.

Over the years, the teams have continued to provide value add to the global finance organization through business insights, technical accounting skills, data analytics, technological enhancements, and standardization across lines of business. The key focus areas in the immediate future are driving teams to adapt the skills of the future, digital transformation and enhance product & regulatory reporting framework.

CIB Controllers Team is a 230+ people team spread across both Mumbai & Bengaluru supporting key Controllership function such as Month End / Quarter End / Annual Books closure activities as per USGAAP, Foreign Exchange Trade Out and Capital Hedge as per requirements laid out by FAS 52, Standalone US Reg submission, Local Regulatory Reporting for APAC, UK and EMEA region, etc.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Overall oversight including accounting & reporting of legal entity financial statements for US GAAP and local GAAP
  • FX Risk Management through trade-out and Capital Hedging in accordance with FASB (FAS 52) requirements
  • General Ledger control monitoring including attributions, Inter-entity & Investment Equity breaks, IFRS reporting, Budgeting & forecasting including GLRS
  • Regulatory Reporting in compliance with various US Fed Requirements
  • Preparing of Management Information Summary decks to support Senior Management team in decision process by analyzing financial performance.
  • Reporting & Compliance with various Critical Regulator like RBI, HKMA, MAS, APRA etc.
  • BASEL, Risk Reporting & Capital Management
  • Periodic Financial Statement Reporting & analysis i.e. BS, PL, Off BS, Volume/Exposure reporting as per various local regulation requirements.
  • Adherence towards the Controls Metrics, Legal Entity Control Standards and other policies along with review of Booking models.
  • Daily monitoring and controls.
  • Maintain and develop relationship with onshore partners and business.
  • Implement internal controls policies and procedures to mitigate financial and business risks.
  • Migrating to Strategic data sourcing platforms
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Equivalent Finance Degree or a subject of a technical nature
  • 0-4 years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic, and diligent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management
  • Proven track record for executing on special projects / assignments with often little lead time or information
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
