Global Finance & Business Management ("GF&BM") India is a combined Line of Business-aligned (LOB-aligned) finance & business support team located in India and is part of JPMorgan's global capability center (GCC). We are part of the Office of the CFO (OCFO) organization within JPMorgan, which has 13000+ people across the globe, majority of whom are tasked with managing the firm's Finance function, responsible for reporting quarterly earnings and complying with regulatory requirements along with managing the firm's capital.

GF&BM India was established in September 2002 and currently we have a network of more than 3400+ professionals based out of our Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices who support four main "pillars" of work - Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations and Business Client & Products. The teams in India are aligned to the respective LOBs that they support which include Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Commercial Banking (CB), Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) and Corporate/Firmwide functions. The current opening is within the CIB Controllers - UK Regulatory Reporting- Capital Management and Strategy team in Mumbai which forms part of the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) LOB within GF&BM India.

About the Team

Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Finance & Business Management India

Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Finance & Business Management India is one of the first group to be set up in India in Global Finance and has since grown its presence across Mumbai & Bengaluru into a 800+ people organization. The group is accountable for diverse functional teams and has a significant footprint of the global Finance organization supporting Corporate Investment Banking business and regulators across all regions.

Over the years, the teams have continued to provide value add to the global finance organization through business insights, technical accounting skills, data analytics, technological enhancements and standardization across lines of business. The key focus areas in the immediate future are driving teams to adapt the skills of the future, digital transformation and enhance product & regulatory reporting framework.

UK Regulatory Reporting - Capital Management and Strategy

The EMEA Capital Management and Strategy (ECMS) Team, within JPM's Finance function, helps to ensure that the Firm complies with its prudential regulatory obligations, through:

  • Production of regulatory deliverables for which the team is directly responsible to a high standard of accuracy, with appropriate, clear messaging, meeting regulatory requirements and expectations.
  • Provision of timely, accurate and relevant advice to senior management and other teams within Finance and the wider Firm, to enable them to meet their regulatory obligations and better manage the business within regulatory constraints.
  • Ensuring that our regulated entities operate efficiently with adequate capital to meet regulatory requirements and appropriately cover the risks they face, now and in the foreseeable future.
  • Early identification and accurate analysis of prudential developments and influence on changes to the capital framework.
  • Regulatory capital impact assessment in the EMEA region of legal entity simplification initiatives, business re-organizations, new business initiatives and external commitments to regulators (especially with the PRA and ECB).
  • Strategic set up of an optimal legal entity structure in EMEA, including discretionary projects to optimize the capital footprint in the region.
About the Role

EMEA Capital Management and Strategy team is looking for a strong associate to work within the UK Capital Management team. This is a key role in the EMEA Capital Management and Strategy team, which produces critical deliverables for EMEA senior management and UK regulators, including UK entities' capital projections, Individual Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), capital aspects of Recovery & Resolution, as well as owning the EMEA ICAAP framework and standards, and having oversight of non-UK capital management and ICAAP.

This role will mainly focus on project management of ICAAP for UK entities (annual and quarterly) involving senior stakeholders from multiple functions and other regulatory projects. The role is an ideal representation of projects and business-as-usual activities, offering the right level of challenge and opportunity to grow.

The successful candidate will manage the ICAAP for UK entities end-to-end with related experience in driving a central program governance across complex & significant programs and workstreams with core focus on aspects such as finance, risk and stress testing. The individual must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, be able to work closely with the wider team to pull together succinct updates which are then reflected in professional materials for a number of governance forums. The individual must be able to effectively partner and establish relationships across line of business, function and level in order to execute initiatives contributing to the working groups and to EMEA Capital Management and Strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Knowledge, skills and experience required:
  • Ability to manage and take responsibility for own work, producing reliable, high-quality outputs to an agreed timeline. Good task management skills and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for the project management of UK ICAAPs, including organising working groups and managing the large volume of inputs from multiple stakeholders.
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships across different functions ensuring all ICAAP inputs are clearly communicated with timelines and addressing any queries quickly.
  • Working closely with the wider ECMS team to manage various input trackers, working group minutes and regular status updates on action points.
  • Liaising with senior management to ensure their feedback on review & challenge of the annual ICAAP is communicated to relevant stakeholders and addressed appropriately in the ICAAP document.
  • Supporting senior leadership in ICAAP governance process and preparing high quality materials for various governance forums.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, with the written and oral presentation skills to deliver clear messages for a senior audience and external parties. Attention to detail.
  • Collaborative approach to work and coordinate within ECMS and other teams in Finance, Risk, Treasury and the business lines.
Desired Candidate Profile:
  • Knowledge of the investment banking industry, products and business lines. Any experience in EU / PRA regulatory reporting involving Basel/CRR regulations or Pillar 2 / ICAAP framework will be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills to lead the forums confidently with senior stakeholders from Risk, Finance and Treasury.
  • Good experience in setting up and running successful governance forums.
  • Ability to create professional presentations for senior management.
  • Teamwork skills - Candidate must be flexible in work style and have the ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
