JOB DESCRIPTION
Head of India Branch Operations, Mumbai
As the Head of Operations, you will be leading the Digital Platform Services (D&PS) Operations team supporting Corporate & Investment Banking business based in India, Mumbai Branch. The D&PS Operations teams develop and manage innovative, secure service solutions to meet clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs globally. Developing and using the latest technology, teams work to deliver industry-leading capabilities to our clients and customers, making it easy and convenient to do business with the firm. Teams also drive growth by refining technology-driven customer and client experiences that put users first, providing an unparalleled experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Align and bridge priorities while leading D&PS Operations across location, product, regional and global groups
  • Define, drive and communicate the strategic direction of D&PS Operations
  • Empower teams and managers in developing a culture of open communication, collaboration, diversity and inclusion
  • Supporting Plan and implement strategies to ensure efficiency /re-engineering and simplification of processes to support business in achieving their targets and reduce operational costs.
  • Exhibits a full knowledge and thorough understanding of the entire operations functions.
  • Ensuring good control and compliance to corporate policies and regulatory requirements which are relevant to Operations.
  • Achieve financial targets that include all costs, capacity and budget planning to drive business growth and sustainability.
  • Develop strong partnership with cross functional team with technology, sales, product, Client Services, Finance, Compliance and other operations groups at strategic level.
  • Present and negotiate project demands to create efficiency and reduce operation cost.
  • Keeps abreast of new technologies and applications and lead and motivate the team to manage changes.
  • Lead and guide the team to strive organizational goals and hire, train and retain the talent.
  • Review and approve Business Continuity Plan and periodic tests.
  • The role involves regulatory interface during onsite inspections, representing or leading market forum.
  • The Lead will be member of local committees (LMC, LOC, RALCO, LRR, IT, AML/KYC, etc.) as well as member of regional forums and will be responsible for ensuring appropriate governance in place.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration.
  • Minimum 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Operations or Risk Management
  • Strong managerial / leadership skills, ability to drive the change, think strategically and have agility to lead and follow new Digital agenda.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills to lead the group independently while interfacing senior business partners and regulators on the ground (exhibit leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem solving, change management, etc.).
  • Strong technical and regulatory experience (covering Transaction banking products, Markets operations products and procedures)
  • Strong control and analytical mindset
  • Strong decision making capabilities and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Effective delegating, planning and time management skills to meet strict deadlines and team objectives
  • Adaptability in maintaining best standards practice and adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes or requirements
  • Commitment to providing high standards of quality client service
  • Ability to lead large team and be an effective leader to groom, hire, train and retain people.
