Job Summary

The C&I Tendering Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive commercial and interior fit-out tender submissions. The role involves detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimation, coordination with design and MEP teams, subcontractor negotiations, and preparation of complete technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements and project specifications.

Key ResponsibilitiesTendering & Estimation

Review tender documents including drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work Prepare detailed cost estimates for

interior fit-out works

such as partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, finishes, furniture, and architectural elements Carry out quantity take-offs from IFC and tender drawings Identify scope gaps, risks, and exclusions during tender stage Prepare complete commercial tender submissions within deadlines
Subcontractor & Supplier Coordination

Identify and pre-qualify interior fit-out subcontractors and suppliers Issue RFQs and evaluate quotations technically and commercially Negotiate rates and terms to achieve competitive pricing Prepare comparison statements and cost analyses
Technical & Design Coordination

Coordinate with design, MEP, and project teams to ensure scope alignment Review drawings for constructability, material compliance, and cost efficiency Propose value engineering options and alternative materials or methods Assist in resolving tender clarifications and queries
Commercial & Documentation Support

Prepare BOQs, cost breakdowns, and tender clarifications Support post-tender negotiations and contract award processes Maintain records of tender estimates and historical cost data Assist in handover of awarded projects to execution teams
Qualifications & SkillsEducation

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Interior Construction
Experience

3-7 years of experience in C&I tendering or interior fit-out costing Strong knowledge of interior construction materials, finishes, and fit-out methods
Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, and coordination drawings Knowledge of contract terms, BOQs, and measurement standards
Soft Skills

Strong analytical and negotiation skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines Good communication and coordination skills
