Job Summary

The C&I Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for interior fit-out projects. The role focuses on quantity take-offs, cost analysis, budgeting, and cost control for architectural and interior works, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets and profitability targets.

Key ResponsibilitiesCost Estimation & Budgeting

Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior fit-out works including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, joinery, furniture, and architectural elements Perform quantity take-offs from architectural and interior drawings Develop project budgets and cost plans based on design intent and client requirements Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and opportunities for cost optimization
Cost Control & Monitoring

Monitor project costs against approved budgets during execution Track variations, additional works, and change orders Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses Assist project managers in controlling costs and improving project margins
Technical & Commercial Coordination

Coordinate with design, MEP, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate costing Review designs for constructability and cost efficiency Propose value engineering solutions and alternative materials or methods Support procurement with benchmarking and supplier cost evaluations
Documentation & Reporting

Prepare BOQs, cost breakdowns, and comparison statements Maintain historical cost data and rate libraries for future projects Assist in final accounts, claims, and project close-out documentation Provide cost summaries and financial reports to management
Qualifications & SkillsEducation

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Interior Construction
Experience

3-7 years of experience in C&I costing, preferably in interior fit-out projects Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, and fit-out construction methods
Technical Skills

Proficiency in MS Excel and cost estimation tools Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior drawings Knowledge of BOQs, measurement standards, and basic contract terms
Soft Skills

Strong numerical and analytical skills High attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and coordination skills Ability to work under tight deadlines
