You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality Chinese dishes while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior chefs in the preparation of Chinese dishes including dim sum, stir-fry, noodles, and regional specialties.
Perform daily mise-en-place to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Handle basic cooking tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces under supervision.
Ensure food quality and presentation meets the restaurant's standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation in compliance with hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Head Chef.
Assist in receiving and stocking kitchen supplies.
Report any maintenance issues or kitchen equipment malfunctioning immediately.
Work collaboratively with team members to support a positive kitchen culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a Chinese or Pan-Asian kitchen (preferred).
Basic knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Good communication skills and team spirit.
Culinary diploma or equivalent certification is an advantage.
Willingness to learn and take constructive feedback.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods.
Able to lift and carry up to 15 kg.
