Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of Chinese dishes as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
Ensure mise-en-place is completed before service begins.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including proper storage of food items.
Support senior chefs in day-to-day kitchen operations.
Follow kitchen hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie.
Ensure minimal food wastage through proper handling and storage.
Learn and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Chinese section.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Requirements:
Basic culinary training or diploma preferred.
3-4 years of experience in a Chinese kitchen or similar culinary role.
Knowledge of basic Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with good communication and time management skills.
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
