The Pearl Burdwan Hotel & Banquet is seeking a skilled and passionate
Chinese Chef
who specializes in authentic and contemporary Chinese cuisine. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing a variety of Chinese dishes, ensuring high quality, consistency, and presentation standards that delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide range of Chinese dishes including stir-fries, noodles, soups, dim sum, fried rice, and sauces.
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all food items.
Plan and develop Chinese menu offerings for a la carte, buffet, room service, and banquets.
Maintain hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness as per HACCP and hotel standards.
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in Chinese culinary techniques.
Monitor inventory and ensure proper storage and usage of ingredients.
Work closely with F&B and banquet teams to coordinate menu planning and special events.
Maintain food cost and minimize waste through efficient kitchen practices.
Innovate new Chinese dishes and fusion items based on guest preferences and seasonal availability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Chinese Chef in a reputed restaurant or hotel.
Specialization in Chinese cuisine with knowledge of regional styles like Cantonese, Sichuan, Hakka, etc.
Diploma or degree in culinary arts or hotel management is preferred.
Sound knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency during high-volume service.
Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about Asian cuisine.
