The Chief Security Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing comprehensive security operations for the Integrated Steel Plant, ensuring protection of personnel, assets, materials, infrastructure, and information, while maintaining compliance with statutory and corporate security requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor plant-wide security policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure round-the-clock security coverage of plant premises, township (if applicable), mines, warehouses, and critical installations.
Conduct periodic security risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
Oversee access control systems, surveillance (CCTV), perimeter security, and intrusion detection systems.
Manpower & Administration
Lead, supervise, and discipline in-house and outsourced security personnel.
Manage deployment, duty rosters, training, performance evaluation, and compliance of security staff.
Coordinate with external security agencies and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Coordination & Liaison
Act as the primary liaison with local police, district administration, intelligence agencies, fire services, and emergency response authorities.
Handle law & order issues, theft, pilferage, trespassing, sabotage, and labor-related security concerns.
Crisis & Emergency Management
Prepare and execute emergency response plans for industrial incidents, fire, natural disasters, sabotage, and civil disturbances.
Lead crisis management during emergencies and conduct mock drills periodically in coordination with safety and fire departments.
Compliance & Investigations
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to industrial security, safety, and labor laws.
Investigate security breaches, incidents, and losses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain security documentation, incident logs, and MIS reports for management review.
Asset & Loss Prevention
Prevent theft, material pilferage, and unauthorized movement of men and materials.
Oversee gate operations, weighbridge security, material movement tracking, and contractor compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate from a recognized university (Post-graduation preferred).
Retired senior officers from
Armed Forces / Central Armed Police Forces / State Police
, or
Minimum 8-10
years of experience
in industrial security, preferably in
integrated steel plants, power plants, or large manufacturing units
.
Experience in managing large security teams and outsourced agencies is essential.
