Job Overview: This position on Kwajalein Atoll, in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, offers great work-life balance. Assists the captain with the operation and maintenance of the U.S. Army LCU, LCM's and Ferry, or Catamaran Class vessels at Kwajalein or Roi Namur Islands. The vessel transits are near coastal areas within Kwajalein Atoll waters, which are designated as "international waters" for maritime regulatory purposes.
This position is unaccompanied; and a Bachelor's Quarter (BQ) will be provided. Responsibilities:

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Oversees crew's welfare and training in areas such as safety, firefighting, search and rescue.
  • Acts as second in command and reports to the vessel captain.
  • Uses tools such as ballasting and load balancing to optimize the ships performance for the type of environment expected to be encountered.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the Engineer or Engineman.
  • Maintains vessel charts and maritime publications.
  • Oversees the on and offloading of cargo and provisions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of vessel experience.
  • U.S. Coast Guard 200T Mater license with all applicable STCW endorsements for international waters or a valid RMI level 5 license.
  • Valid RADAR endorsement.
  • Must also be able to communicate well as part of a small team and work cooperatively with other colleagues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to deal with problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks, pre-employment physical requirements and drug testing required by the contract.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which includes U.S. Citizenship or U.S. naturalization.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.

The definition of fully vaccinated is that you have:


1.) Received a vaccine that is recognized by the governing entity and is either a.) Two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine b.) Two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine c.) Two doses of Moderna Vaccine (or) d. One dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine; and


2.) Two weeks elapsed after the final dose was administered, which is either one or two doses depending on brand of the vaccination.
