Position Summary
We are seeking a visionary and strategic
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
to lead all aspects of marketing, communications, branding, and public engagement. The CMO will play a critical role in amplifying the Foundation's mission, driving visibility for its programs, strengthening donor and partner relationships, and growing national and international outreach through integrated marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Branding
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the Foundation's mission, values, and long-term goals.
Strengthen and evolve the Utkarsh brand identity across all touchpoints.
Champion cause-based storytelling to drive awareness, engagement, and advocacy.
Digital & Content Marketing
Lead digital presence across website, social media, SEO/SEM, email campaigns, and donor platforms.
Oversee the creation of compelling content for campaigns, impact stories, videos, and reports.
Manage online fundraising campaigns and digital donor engagement strategies.
Public Relations & Media Engagement
Build relationships with media outlets and journalists to amplify campaign visibility.
Lead crisis communication and media response strategies when necessary.
Develop press releases, media kits, and talking points for organizational leaders.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
Support fundraising teams by creating marketing materials and donor pitches.
Collaborate with program and operations teams to ensure messaging accuracy and impact reflection.
Engage with corporate CSR teams, government partners, and influencers to build brand partnerships.
Events, Campaigns & Outreach
Design and execute nationwide awareness campaigns (e.g., for environmental drives, women's empowerment, road safety).
Coordinate branding and outreach for on-ground activities, workshops, and clean-up drives.
Innovate public-facing campaigns to expand community involvement and volunteerism.
Leadership & Team Development
Build and mentor a high-performing communications and marketing team.
Set and monitor KPIs for marketing effectiveness, brand health, and audience reach.
Manage marketing budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
Qualifications
Any Graduate/Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
18+ years of experience in strategic marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role; NGO or social impact sector experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success in brand-building, digital marketing, and campaign execution.
Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Deep understanding of mission-driven marketing and cause communications.
Passion for social justice, sustainability, and community welfare.
Desirable Attributes
Strong network in media, advertising, digital, or CSR circles.
Multilingual capabilities are a plus, considering pan-India operations.
Highly collaborative, empathetic, and driven by purpose.
Compensation
Commensurate with experience and non-profit sector benchmarks.
