Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial operations and drive sustainable growth. The CFO will be a key member of our leadership team, working closely with the Founder and Co-Founder to shape the company's financial strategy and overall business direction.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives
Provide strategic financial guidance to the Founder and Co-Founder on business decisions, investments, and expansion opportunities
Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and margin improvement
Government and PSU Contract Management
Oversee financial aspects of government ministry and PSU contracts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
Manage working capital requirements specific to government projects, including bank guarantees, retention money, and payment cycles
Navigate complex government payment procedures and maintain strong relationships with finance departments of client organizations
Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all government-related financial transactions
Financial Operations and Control
Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cost accounting
Establish and enforce robust financial controls, policies, and procedures
Oversee project costing, billing, and revenue recognition for ongoing construction projects
Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and banking relationships
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards
Manage tax planning and compliance including GST, income tax, TDS, and other statutory requirements
Oversee internal and external audits
Identify and mitigate financial risks across projects and operations
Implement and maintain adequate insurance coverage
Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team
Develop finance team capabilities and create succession plans
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct
Business Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to the Founder and Co-Founder on all financial matters
Support business development efforts with financial analysis and project feasibility studies
Collaborate with project management teams to ensure project profitability
Drive digital transformation initiatives in finance and accounting processes
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification
Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance from a reputed institution
Additional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or equivalent would be an advantage
Experience
Minimum 12-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience
At least 5-7 years in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent)
Proven experience managing finances for companies working with government ministries and PSUs
Strong understanding of construction industry financial dynamics, project accounting, and contract management
Experience handling complex government compliance and regulatory requirements
Technical Skills
Expert knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and corporate laws
Thorough understanding of government procurement processes, contract terms, and payment cycles
Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting
Experience with ERP systems and financial management software
Strong knowledge of banking, treasury, and working capital management
Leadership and Strategic Skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial strategies that drive business growth
Strong business acumen with ability to translate financial insights into actionable business recommendations

Strategic thinking with attention to operational details
