Basic Job Profile
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with ample years of progressive financial leadership experience. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will lead financial strategy, planning, analysis, and operations to support sustainable growth and profitability. This individual will play a vital role in strategic decision-making and will be a hands-on leader in driving operational excellence across finance, accounting, investor relations, risk management, and compliance.
Duties & Responsibility
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's overall mission and growth objectives.
Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team on financial planning, risk, and capital structure.
Lead M&A evaluation, due diligence, and integration efforts.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling.
Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and ROI.
Identify and mitigate financial risks and opportunities proactively.
Financial Operations & Reporting
Oversee the preparation and finalization of the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, and other financial statements in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards.
Lead and coordinate statutory audits, ensuring compliance with accounting and legal standards.
Oversee assessment and review of internal audits, ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
Oversee audits and maintain strong internal controls.
Lead efforts to streamline accounting systems and processes.
Capital Management:
Manage relationships with financial institutions, banks and investment partners.
Lead discussions and negotiations for working capital limits, term loans, and structured finance.
Monitor liquidity, manage treasury operations, and ensure effective cash flow management.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control:
Drive company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
Propose and execute cost optimization strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Monitor fund utilization, ensuring optimal use of available financial resources.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all statutory requirements including tax, GST, and company law.
Develop and maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Oversee regulatory filings and ensure corporate governance standards are met.
Board Engagement & Reporting:
Prepare and present financial data, insights, and board meeting agendas in collaboration with the company secretary and CEO.
Support board and committee meetings with actionable reports, financial KPIs, and compliance updates.
Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:
Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Collaborate with business unit heads to align financial planning with strategic goals.
Champion financial discipline and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Qualification & Requirements
CA, ICWA, MBA (Finance/Strategy/General Management) & CPA preferred).
20+ years of financial experience with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles.
Proven track record in driving growth, profitability, and process improvement in complex environments.
Experience in [industry-specific knowledge, e.g., manufacturing, technology, healthcare].
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with private equity or public company boards is a plus.
Technologically savvy with exposure to ERP systems and data analytics tools.
M&A and fundraising experience is highly desirable.
