Job Description


Job Responsibilities . To co-ordinate with Housekeeping Department, Front Office, Kitchen, Projects and F&B Service Department to carry out various guest area-jobs such as preventive-maintenance, breakdown-maintenance, up gradation, Renovation and day-to-day operations. . Maintain all distribution systems for Electricity, Water, Steam and Gas etc as per standards. . Maintain and operate A/C Plant, heating, ventilation and refrigeration equipments as per occupancy, functions and load conditions. . Maintain and document daily consumptions of Electricity, Water, Gas and Oil as per sanctioned budget. . Monitor and co-ordinate the services performed by outside contractors in accordance to all contracts, leases, service agreements and warranties. . Ensure timely responses to request for services by guests, employees and management to include maintain, repair or replacement of all interior fixtures and furnishings. . Schedule all work to be done on a daily basis at a minimum inconvenience to guests and employees. . Analyze and modify operation of the physical plant to conserve energy. . Educate other operating departments in energy management. . Assist and prepare operating and capital budgets. . Maintain adequate inventory of parts, tools and supplies and maintain purchasing records. . Regular on the job training to be conducted for all the staff. . Regular inspection of building and grounds to ensure compliance with fire and safety and other statutory laws. . Maintain a clean and orderly work place to ensure hazardless operation. . To ensure un-interrupted supply of electricity, water, steam, LPG and to provide comfortable air-conditioning and ventilation in the hotel. . To plan and organise various preventive and breakdown maintenance jobs on engineering equipment and building. . To plan to upgrade the property and various engineering equipments at regular intervals. . To plan replacement of run-down equipments. . To liaise with government-agencies for electricity, water, boiler, lift, pollution control etc. . To plan and organise manpower including contractors. . To look after general administration of engineering staff. . To ensure safety of the equipments, guests, employees and others within the hotel premises. . To take various eco-activities with regard to engineering department. . To maintain drawings, records, manuals of various engineering system and equipments. . To carry out any other duty assigned by the General Manager and chief engineer . To process all the bills of various jobs on time . To plan training schedule for all the staff . To plan P.L. of all staff in advance . To maintain good rapport with all staff . T.B.E.M., T.P.M. & KAIZAN process to implement continuously. . Upkeep of plant and machineries . Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer. Maintain appropriate equipment operating logs, charts, diagrams, drawings special tools etc. Maintain utility consumption records. Establish annual energy reduction objectives & prepare reports for the same.. Analyze and modify operation of the physical plant to conserve energy. Select vendors and contractors that meet quality standards and pricing specifications. Initiate purchase orders through constant follow ups. Approve invoices through the chief Engineer. Maintain adequate inventory of parts, tools and supplies as per the instructions of the chief engineer. Maintain purchasing records. Total productive maintenance of equipments to be implemented and followed as per plan in consultation with the Chief engineer. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports to be followed. To maintain all statutory required licenses on time. To implement all the initiatives directed by corporate office and by the unit. To maintain highest quality hygiene standards. To sign service level agreement with intra-departments for smooth functioning. . Train and supervise subordinates and assist in safety and emergency Training for other employees. . Recommend and/or take action to ensure compliance. . To take up all initiatives & Programs as decided by the management & complete the same with in the time frame provided. . Monitoring of T.B.E.M processes. . Implementing & monitoring ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System, EMPs & O&Ts, OCPs and training of staff. . Enabling and adherence of the principles and work practices detailed under HACCP System in the department viz., Food Safety, Hygiene and Cleanliness, Health, Storage etc as applicable to the area of your work place. Interdepartmental Coordination: To co-ordinate with all the departments for their day-to-day up gradation of departmental maintenance and to render their services as and when it is required by them.
