The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) is a strategic, executive-level change agent responsible for
defining and executing the company-wide digital strategy
. This role drives innovation, leverages emerging technologies to create new business value, enhances customer experience, and transforms traditional business models and operations into digital-first processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Strategy & Vision
Develop and Champion:
Create a clear, compelling, and comprehensive digital vision and strategy that aligns with the overall corporate business objectives and positions the company as a leader in its industry.
Transformation Roadmap:
Define the roadmap and prioritization for all major digital transformation initiatives across product, marketing, sales, and operations.
Innovation:
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Cloud Computing) and determine their potential for creating competitive advantage and new revenue streams.
2. Digital Execution & Operations
Change Management:
Act as a central driver of organizational and cultural change, fostering a company-wide "digital-first" mindset and promoting digital literacy across all departments.
Process Transformation:
Lead efforts to redesign and digitize core business processes to drive
operational efficiency
, reduce costs, and accelerate speed to market.
Platform Oversight:
Oversee the development, integration, and optimization of all customer-facing digital platforms (websites, mobile apps, e-commerce, digital marketing channels).
3. Customer Experience (CX) & Revenue Growth
Enhance CX:
Drive initiatives to continuously improve the end-to-end digital customer experience, making interactions seamless, personalized, and efficient.
Digital Marketing:
Partner with the CMO to optimize digital marketing, demand generation, and e-commerce strategies to increase online revenue and market share.
Data Monetization:
Develop strategies for leveraging organizational data as a strategic asset to create new products, services, or revenue opportunities.
4. Leadership & Collaboration
Cross-Functional Alignment:
Collaborate closely with the CEO, CIO/CTO, COO, and CMO to ensure digital initiatives are fully integrated and supported across the entire organization.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, mentor, and lead the dedicated Digital Transformation team, fostering a culture of agility, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Budget & ROI:
Own the budget for digital initiatives, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure a high
return on investment (ROI)
for all digital investments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field. An
MBA or relevant Master's degree is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of
3-7 years in digital leadership roles
, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives in a complex organizational setting.
Technical Acumen:
Deep understanding of digital technologies, platforms, and trends (e.g., Cloud, SaaS, AI, Data Analytics, DevOps).
Business Acumen:
Strong financial and operational understanding, with the ability to translate digital vision into quantifiable business outcomes.
Leadership:
Exceptional executive presence, communication, and change management skills to influence at all levels of the organization, from the board room to front-line teams.

Pay: ₹40,356.30 - ₹55,629.18 per month
