to join our team in the jewelry industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical analysis and testing of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, etc.), alloys, and plating materials to ensure product quality and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
:
Perform
chemical testing and analysis
of metals and alloys used in jewelry (e.g., fire assay, spectrometry, titration).
Analyze samples for
metal purity
(karat analysis for gold, silver content, etc.).
Conduct
electroplating solution analysis and maintenance
(rhodium, gold plating, etc.).
Maintain accurate records of test results, lab logs, and certificates.
Assist in
research and development
for new alloy compositions or plating solutions.
Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments (e.g., AAS, ICP, XRF, spectrophotometers).
Ensure lab safety, chemical handling compliance, and adherence to environmental regulations.
Coordinate with the
production and quality teams
to resolve issues related to material quality.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain ISO or other quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
:
Bachelor's or Diploma in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Metallurgy or related field.
Knowledge of
precious metals chemistry
and analytical techniques.
Hands-on experience with
XRF, AAS, ICP, titration, fire assay
, or similar.
Familiarity with
electroplating and refining processes
is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good documentation and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
:
Experience in a
jewelry manufacturing or hallmarking
lab.
Understanding of
BIS standards
for gold purity (in India) or equivalent standards in other countries.
Exposure to
R&D or new product development
in alloys or coatings.
