- Process Operator
Department: Production
Reports to: Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge
Location: Bawa Polymers Manufacturing Plant
Position Overview
The Process Operator is responsible for running and monitoring production equipment such as reactors, mixers, distillation units, condensers, and pumps for the manufacturing of insulating varnishes, resins, and wire enamels. The role ensures smooth batch operations, adherence to SOPs, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations
Operate reactors, mixers, kettles, and associated utilities according to process instructions and batch cards.
Carry out raw material charging, heating, cooling, blending, and distillation as per defined parameters.
Record process data (temperature, pressure, time, viscosity, pH, etc.) during production.
Monitor and control process variables to ensure batch consistency and yield.
Assist in filtration, packing, and transfer of finished product to storage tanks or drums.
2. Process Monitoring & Reporting
Identify any process deviations, abnormalities, or equipment malfunctions and immediately report to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate logbooks of each batch produced.
Conduct in-process checks (viscosity, solids content, appearance) in coordination with QC.
3. Equipment & Plant Maintenance
Ensure reactors, condensers, pipelines, and pumps are clean and fit for use before starting a batch.
Support preventive maintenance by informing maintenance staff of equipment performance issues.
Carry out basic upkeep (lubrication, cleaning, leak checking) of operating equipment.
4. Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols including use of PPE (gloves, goggles, respirators, helmets, safety shoes).
Handle flammable and hazardous chemicals (solvents, acids, resins) safely.
Participate in fire drills, safety training, and emergency response activities.
Comply with ISO, OSHA, and environmental safety guidelines.
5. Housekeeping & Support
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the plant floor, reactors, and working area.
Assist in raw material handling, loading/unloading, and waste disposal.
Support production supervisors in any additional operational tasks.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical knowledge of chemical plant operations.
Ability to read and follow batch cards, SOPs, and safety instructions.
Good observation skills to detect process abnormalities.
Basic understanding of chemical reactions, heating/cooling cycles, and distillation.
Teamwork, discipline, and willingness to work in shifts.
Qualification & Experience
Education: ITI/Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical or 12th pass with relevant training.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in chemical/paint/resin/polymer plant preferred (freshers with technical training can also be considered).
Other: Physically fit, comfortable with handling chemicals and working in plant environment.

Plant cleanliness and housekeeping compliance.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
