Job Description


Experience Education Required Minimum 2-5 years of experience in pastry cooking or Pastry Chef Experience with high food production. Should have completed Degree/ Diploma in Hotel Management from a reputed institute (Optional). A good level of knowledge and on-hand expertise relevant to the subject and professional area. Responsibilities Responsible to teach high-quality bakery and confectionary dishes with the standards recipes and presentations in order to maintain quality standards and consistency of product. Besides this, their responsibilities comprise, Teaching and learning support Teaching/instructing students Prepare a wide variety of goods such as , cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes. Able to produce all goods including but not limited to artisan breads and rolls, muffins, laminated Danish, laminated and doughnuts, types of sponges, creams, sauces, cake covers etc. Able to develop, designs, or creates new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen. Able to teach new desserts to in the current trend. Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings. Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products. Decorate pastries and desserts using different types of , toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful and exciting. Coordinates activities of students engaged in baking. Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation. Checks the quality of products to ensure that standards are met. Assists students in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays. Monitor stocks for ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within . Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking. Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work teach efficiently and effectively Able to recognize superior quality products, presentations and flavours. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Operates and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunctions. Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours. Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards. Guide and motivate students to work more efficiently. Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards. Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities are Met for Pastry Team. Giving the solution related to course content Providing theoretical and practical knowledge to students Knowing/capacity to monitor/instruct the students Provide academic as well as industry knowledge Profound knowledge of student assessment process Deep knowledge of instructional methodologies Participate in program-level learning assessment. Participation includes helping articulate learning outcomes, choosing and administering measures, evaluating student performance, and suggesting changes to improve student learning. Work with other faculty and administrators in developing program curriculum, standards, and policies, including reviewing and participating in the textbook selection process where appropriate Use appropriate teaching, learning support, and assessment methods. Contribute to the planning, design, and development of objectives and material. Planning and designing training programs Conducting training on proper work techniques and skills as per standards Continuously Focus on the associate development of student needs when required. Conduct training needs assessments, design and develop training programs and facilitate the delivery of programs. Skills Required Practical experience in the hospitality industry Strong writing and editing skills Good presentation and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with different teams and leadership styles Demonstration of outstanding customer service Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop teaching and research programs and learning support. Use a range of delivery techniques. Fair understanding of technical tools such as spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc. Knowledge of video conferencing, webinars, data analysis, statistics, and similar others Willing to work non-conventional hours, including weekends and holidays Abilities Good knowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, and cake decorating Possess professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings. Positive attitude and good communication skills Learning and Applying Personal Expertise. Flair for sharing knowledge and organizing knowledge-sharing sessions.
