We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de partie to join our culinary team in Mumbai, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
Manage and supervise a designated section of the kitchen, coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations
Prepare high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards and specifications
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles
Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to maintain consistency
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative ideas and local flavors
Manage inventory and stock levels in your assigned section, minimizing waste and controlling costs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, equipment, and utensils
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other team members to improve kitchen processes and efficiency
Adapt to changing priorities and handle high-pressure situations during peak hours
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef de partie or in a similar role
Strong culinary skills with expertise in various cooking techniques and food preparation methods
In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine and ability to incorporate local flavors
Proficiency in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment
Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP principles
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Minimum higher school education; additional certification(s) from a reputable culinary school is an advantage
* Knowledge of other languages is beneficial
