Position Summary
The Chef - Cinema Operations is responsible for overseeing food preparation and kitchen operations within the cinema premises. The role ensures consistent food quality, adherence to hygiene and safety standards, efficient service aligned with movie schedules, and compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare and execute approved cinema menu items, including snacks, quick-service foods, and combo offerings, in accordance with brand standards.
Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, portion control, and presentation at all times.
Plan kitchen operations in coordination with the Cinema Manager to meet peak-hour and show-time demand.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per FSSAI and company SOPs.
Monitor inventory levels, raise timely requisitions, and ensure optimal stock utilization with minimal wastage.
Implement FIFO practices and ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of raw and prepared food items.
Supervise, train, and guide kitchen assistants and support staff, where applicable.
Conduct regular checks on kitchen cleanliness, equipment functionality, and safety measures.
Address customer feedback related to food quality and service in a prompt and professional manner.
Ensure adherence to company policies, operational guidelines, and statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate records related to kitchen operations, hygiene checks, and inventory control.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum qualification: Secondary education (10th / 12th) or relevant culinary certification.
2-4 years of relevant experience in cinemas, multiplexes, QSRs, food courts, or hospitality establishments.
Mandatory knowledge of FSSAI norms and food safety practices.
Working Conditions
Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Physically demanding role requiring long hours of standing in a kitchen environment.
