Job Description

seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer with expertise in Chassis Structure design and Vehicle Integration. The ideal candidate will have 2~4 years of experience in mechanical design and product development within the automotive or electric vehicle (EV) industry, preferably with exposure to 2-wheeler platforms.

This role involves end-to-end design and development of chassis and structural components, and integration for mass production readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Design & Development: o Design body trim and structural components (Chassis, fairings, mudguards, etc.).
Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.

3D CAD & Drawings: o Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D detailed drawings using UGNX, SolidWorks or similar tools. o Apply GD&T and perform tolerance stack-up analysis. Engineering Fundamentals:
Perform hand calculations and apply DFM, DFA, and DFS principles.

Support structural design using CAE feedback and improve durability, cost, and weight

Material & Manufacturing:

Select appropriate materials and coatings based on application.

Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, die casting, stamping, vacuum forming, sheet metal, welding, and tube fabrication.

Prototyping & Validation:

Assist in prototype builds and design validation.

Support DFMEA, DVP&R, and ensure readiness for mass production.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: o Coordinate with suppliers, prototyping vendors, and internal CFTs (Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing).

Support tooling development and part qualification.

Process & Documentation: o Maintain BOMs, engineering change notices, and ensure design documentation is up to date.

Propose continuous improvements in design and development processes. Required

Qualifications: o

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in mechanical design, preferably in the 2-wheeler or automotive/EV industry.
Hands-on experience from concept to production is a must. o

Software Skills:

Proficiency in UGNX (3D modeling, assemblies, 2D drafting).

Familiarity with SolidWorks, CATIA, or other CAD tools is a plus.

Technical Expertise:

Strong command of GD&T and tolerance stack-up. o DFM/DFA/DFS principles.

Experience with DFMEA, BOM creation, and CAE collaboration. o Knowledge of jigs, fixtures, and gauge design.

Manufacturing Knowledge:

Basic understanding of processes like injection molding, forging, stamping, sheet metal, die casting, welding, tube bending, and surface finishing

Component Knowledge: Familiarity with Chassis, suspension, brake systems, and powertrain components of 2 wheelers.

Preferred Candidates Will Have: o

Experience in 2-Wheeler OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

Exposure to EV platforms and lightweight structural design. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
