Key responsibilitiesFinancial reporting and accounting
Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Prepare and analyze timely and accurate financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Reconcile income statements and other financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Compliance and auditing
Ensure full compliance with national and international financial regulatory laws and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
Coordinate and oversee both internal and external audits, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors.
Prepare and file all necessary tax returns, including income tax, GST, and other statutory filings.
Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring and analyzing variances to identify areas for improvement.
Provide sound financial advice to senior management on strategies for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profitability.
Develop and implement financial models to forecast market trends and evaluate business performance.
Treasury and risk management
Oversee cash flow management and make investment recommendations.
Assess financial risks inherent to commodity or stock trading and develop robust risk management strategies.
Manage banking relationships and handle transactions, including payments and reconciliations.
Skills and qualificationsRequired
Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a valid membership to the relevant professional body.
Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Have prior experience working as a CA, preferably within a trading, capital markets, or commodity-related industry.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Exhibit proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred
Prior experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools like Power BI.
Experience in a high-volume trading environment and familiarity with trade finance.
Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of junior accountants.
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Honor's degree preferred.
Completion of Articles.
5 years post article experience.
Registration with accredited statutory body and association.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Fully compliant as a tax practitioner.
Filing of corporate tax returns.
Experience in providing financial advice.
