Role Overview:
We are seeking a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong expertise in Income Tax Appeals, Assessments, and Compliance. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience handling tax litigation, representing clients before tax authorities, and preparing detailed assessment and appeal documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and handle Income Tax Assessments, Re-assessments, and Appeal Proceedings independently.
Draft and file appeals, replies, and submissions before CIT(A), ITAT, and other tax authorities.
Liaise and coordinate with tax officials, auditors, and clients for hearings and submissions.
Prepare tax computation, audit reports, and supporting schedules for assessments.
Handle notices under Income Tax Act (e.g., 143(2), 148, 153A) and ensure timely compliance.
Research and interpret complex tax issues and keep updated with recent Income Tax laws and case laws.
Support in tax planning and advise clients on minimizing tax exposure within legal framework.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with statutory timelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) - mandatory.
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax, Appeals, and Assessments.
Strong knowledge of Income Tax Act, Rules, and Judicial Pronouncements.
Experience in dealing with Income Tax Authorities and preparing written submissions.
Excellent communication, drafting, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to corporate taxation and individual taxation.
Experience working with CA firms or tax consultancy firms specializing in litigation and assessments.
