Our firm has a strong track record in GST and Income Tax litigation, having successfully handled 25+ departmental audits to date. Key Responsibilities

Tax Litigation Support:

Handle direct and indirect tax litigation matters, including Income Tax appeals and GST disputes. Assist in preparing case strategies and researching relevant tax laws for ongoing cases.

Representing in Audits & Hearings:

Represent and support clients during Income Tax assessments, GST departmental audits, and scrutiny proceedings. Draft replies to notices and prepare submissions for tax authorities and appellate bodies.

Drafting and Documentation:

Prepare high-quality documentation for litigation purposes - draft responses to tax notices, appeals, petitions, and other legal documents. Ensure all filings and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Liaising with Authorities:

Coordinate with tax officials and regulatory authorities on behalf of clients. Attend tax hearings (no outstation travel required) and provide clarifications or explanations to tax officers during proceedings.

Compliance during Litigation:

Work closely with clients to gather necessary financial data and evidence for cases. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and timelines during the litigation process, such as meeting deadlines for appeal filings and submissions.

Collaboration:

Work alongside senior associates and partners on complex tax cases. Contribute to case discussions, share insights, and assist in formulating arguments and defense strategies in both GST and Income Tax matters.

Required Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualified, with active membership in ICAI. 0-1 years of experience in taxation (freshly qualified CAs are welcome), including exposure to direct and indirect tax matters. Solid understanding of Income Tax Act and GST laws, and familiarity with tax litigation procedures. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret tax statutes and financial data. High attention to detail and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
