. The candidate will be responsible for developing high-fidelity CFD models to analyze airflow, temperature distribution, and thermal management strategies in mission-critical facilities. This role will directly support data center design optimization, energy efficiency improvements, and reliability of cooling infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and execute
CFD simulations
for airflow, temperature, humidity, and heat transfer inside data centers and HVAC systems.
Model
for IT racks, servers, and cooling layouts.
Support design validation of
ventilation systems, ducting, VRF systems, and precision cooling
.
Conduct
what-if analyses
for equipment placement, load distribution, and energy efficiency.
Interpret and present simulation results to design, facilities, and operations teams.
Collaborate with HVAC engineers to improve
PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness)
and overall data center cooling efficiency.
Ensure CFD models follow
ASHRAE, ISO, and industry standards
.
Document and deliver detailed reports, including design recommendations and optimization strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's/Master's in
Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
or related field.
2-6 years of experience in
CFD simulations
(industry or research).
Hands-on expertise in
ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, or 6SigmaDCX
(preferred for data centers).
Strong knowledge of
HVAC systems, thermal management, and building ventilation
.
Experience in
meshing tools
(ICEM, snappyHexMesh, ANSYS Mesher, etc.).
Proficiency in
post-processing tools
(ParaView, Tecplot, Ensight, etc.).
Programming/scripting (Python, MATLAB, C++, or shell scripting) for automation (preferred).
