Provide services in stress and flammability areas throughout the design/development process by
performing detailed stress analysis and assessing flammability of aerospace interior
components and assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare FEA models, cert plans, test plans, run them in static and dynamic situations
Manage of all Certification Engineering activities including stress analysis and flammability to support
and ensure project timelines and quality commitments
Continuously develop the technical capability of the Certification team by encouraging involvement in
multiple domains within Certification and arranging both formal and informal training
Monitor quality issues in the team and provide necessary help for corrective and preventive measures
Keep a close watch on the processes within the team and constantly look for improvements to
enhance quality and productivity
Coordinate regularly with Quality teams both internally and at the customer locations to better
understand quality issues and take appropriate actions
Encourage team members to develop capabilities in related areas such as optimization, dynamic
analysis and explicit finite element methods
Liaison with all project stakeholders, both internal and external for smooth project execution
Lead efforts to interface with other functional groups such as Design and Testing
Serve in a technical capacity and provide robust planning inputs to large project schedules and
plan activities to support
Lead resolution of technical issues related to stress analysis and flammability
Experience
Must have worked in any one or more of the areas - major airframe, aircraft on-board cargo
systems, aircraft seats, aircraft cabin systems and aircraft interiors.
In depth understanding of structural and flammability FAA certification requirements for
commercial aerospace products
Should have at least 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Should be working in a lead position for 3-5 years or more handling a minimum of 8-10-member
team
Should have a strong understanding of strength of materials, excellent analytical skills and
problem-solving skills
Good understanding of material mechanical properties: stress strain curve, fatigue properties
Experience in Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) and failure analyses
Qualification:
M.Tech/B.Tech in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from a reputed institution
