Description:
CTG is seeking Cerner Revenue Support Analysts to provide advanced support for Cerner Revenue Cycle applications with a primary focus on Patient Accounting, Billing workflows, and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of billing processes, claim generation, account resolution, and payment posting. Preferred candidates will also have experience with Cerner Charge Services, supporting charge capture, charge routing, and integration with downstream billing functions. The analyst works closely with Patient Financial Services (PFS), Revenue Integrity, Finance, Clinical Operations, and IT to strengthen organizational revenue cycle performance.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide day-to-day support for Cerner Patient Accounting, including billing, claims processing, statement generation, A/R workflows, payment posting, and account adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot billing errors, claim scrubber issues, interface failures, and payment posting discrepancies.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate solutions with IT teams, operations, and Cerner support as needed.
  • Support users in resolving account-level issues, transaction inconsistencies, and end-of-day reconciliation problems.
System Configuration & Maintenance
  • Configure and maintain Cerner Patient Accounting and Billing components such as billing rules, claim edits, account types, transaction codes, payer setup, and financial class structures.
  • Support setup and maintenance of insurance plans, claim formats, and EDI configuration.
  • Assist with Charge Services configuration (preferred), including charge events, charge routing logic, revenue codes, and integration with billing modules.
  • Participate in upgrades, patches, regression testing, and validation cycles.
Billing Workflow Optimization
  • Collaborate with PFS teams--including billing, follow-up, cash posting, and customer service--to enhance efficiency and reduce denials.
  • Analyze billing trends, denial patterns, and account exceptions to recommend process improvements.
  • Support enhancements that reduce rework, accelerate revenue capture, and improve first-pass claim rates.
  • Ensure workflows align with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
Charge Services (Preferred Experience)
  • Support charge capture workflows, charge posting logic, and reconciliation of clinical charges into billing systems.
  • Assist Revenue Integrity teams with charge reconciliation, charge master updates, and charge data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot failed charge events, missing charges, duplicate entries, or incorrect charge routing.
Training, Documentation & User Support
  • Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and workflow documentation for Patient Accounting, Billing, and Charge Services users.
  • Provide training and support to PFS staff, analysts, and operational partners to increase system proficiency and reduce errors.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of configuration changes, workflows, and support procedures.
Project & Enhancement Participation
  • Participate in enterprise projects including system implementations, payer changes, regulatory updates, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Support new clinic openings, service line expansions, financial policy changes, and automation enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement improvements aligned with revenue cycle goals.
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in Cerner Revenue Cycle or healthcare IT with focus on Patient Accounting or Billing.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare billing practices, claims processing, A/R workflows, and payment posting.
  • Experience troubleshooting billing errors, account discrepancies, and workflows across the revenue cycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
  • Hands-on experience supporting Cerner Charge Services, charge capture, charge routing, and charge validation workflows.
  • Familiarity with revenue integrity, charge master concepts, and clinical-to-financial charge workflows.
  • Experience with denial management, insurance plan configuration, and EDI transactions (837/835).
  • Knowledge of related revenue cycle modules such as Registration, Scheduling, HIM, or coding workflows.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
  • Ability to translate complex billing issues into clear, actionable solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Customer-service mindset with focus on improving user experience and financial performance.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $105,300 to $140,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
