Position Overview
CTG is seeking a Cerner Revenue Support Analyst provides specialized support for Cerner Revenue Cycle applications with a focus on Health Information Management (HIM), coding workflows, and clinical documentation integrity. This role ensures the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of chart completion, coding, abstracting, and release-of-information workflows. Preferred candidates will also have hands-on experience supporting Registration and/or Scheduling modules within a healthcare IT environment. The analyst collaborates with HIM, Coding, Patient Access, Clinical Operations, and IT teams to enhance data integrity, streamline revenue cycle processes, and support organizational financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide advanced support for Cerner HIM and coding modules including Chart Validation, PowerChart HIM, Document Imaging, Abstracting, Chart Correction, and Coding & DRG workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to clinical documentation, chart deficiencies, coding errors, encounter discrepancies, and abstraction failures.
  • Respond to user-reported issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolutions with internal IT teams and the Cerner support vendor.
System Configuration & Maintenance
  • Maintain and configure Cerner HIM and coding applications, templates, rules, queues, and documentation workflows.
  • Support system setup for coding edits, workflows for coders and auditors, and integration with downstream billing systems.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate patient chart structures, document types, deficiency types, and workflow routing.
  • Participate in upgrades, patches, regression testing, and validation cycles to ensure HIM and front-end workflows remain compliant and stable.
Workflow Optimization & Compliance
  • Partner with HIM leadership, Coding teams, and Clinical Documentation staff to improve chart accuracy, timely completion, and coding integrity.
  • Support initiatives to enhance documentation quality, reduce coding rework, and minimize claim delays or denials.
  • Ensure workflows comply with regulatory standards, coding guidelines, CMS requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Improve front-end Registration/Scheduling data accuracy to support clean coding and billing.
Patient Access (Preferred Experience)
  • Provide supplemental support for Cerner Registration and Scheduling modules including person management, appointment types, resource configuration, and eligibility workflows.
  • Assist with resolving demographic and insurance data issues that affect coding accuracy or HIM processing.
  • Collaborate with Patient Access teams to reduce errors that lead to coding or billing delays.
Training, Documentation & User Support
  • Develop training materials, workflow documentation, and user guides for HIM, coding, and Patient Access teams.
  • Provide end-user training, onboarding assistance, and refresher sessions to improve adoption and accuracy.
  • Maintain clear documentation for configurations, processes, and support procedures.
Project & Enhancement Work
  • Participate in or lead initiatives related to chart management optimization, new service line implementations, documentation improvements, and regulatory-driven changes.
  • Support enterprise-wide projects such as location expansions, interface changes, new payer requirements, and coding updates (ICD, CPT, DRG).
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Patient Access, and clinical areas on cross-functional revenue cycle improvements.
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare IT role supporting Cerner Revenue Cycle, HIM, or coding applications.
  • Strong understanding of HIM operations, documentation processes, chart management, and coding workflows.
  • Familiarity with ICD, CPT, DRG, and general coding/billing practices (not necessarily as a certified coder).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred
  • Experience with Cerner Registration (Enterprise Registration/Person Management) and/or Scheduling Management.
  • Experience supporting eligibility, referrals, or patient engagement workflows.
  • Background in HIM or coding roles (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or related credentials are a plus).
  • Exposure to downstream billing, revenue integrity, and claim adjudication.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across HIM, coding, patient access, clinical, and IT teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Customer-service mindset with the ability to translate operational needs into system solutions.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $105,300 to $140,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
