Overview
CTG is seeking an experienced and dedicated Cerner Ancillary LIS Support Analysts to join our healthcare IT team. This role is critical for the seamless operation, maintenance, and optimization of our Laboratory Information System (LIS) environment, with a primary focus on the Cerner PathNet and BloodBank modules. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of laboratory workflows to ensure system integrity, clinical accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
System Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level (Tier 2/3) operational support for all Cerner PathNet modules (e.g., General Laboratory, Anatomical Pathology, Micro) and the Cerner BloodBank system. Diagnose and resolve complex incidents related to testing, resulting, LIS-to-instrument interfacing, billing, and clinical documentation.
Module Configuration & Maintenance: Manage and configure system dictionaries, tables, business rules, security profiles, and clinical protocols specifically within PathNet and BloodBank to align with current laboratory operations and policy changes.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all configuration and operational changes within the BloodBank system adhere strictly to regulatory standards (e.g., AABB, FDA, CAP) and internal quality control procedures.
Interface Management: Monitor and troubleshoot bi-directional interfaces between the LIS, lab instruments, external reference labs, and the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Testing & Implementation: Design, execute, and document unit and integrated testing for system upgrades, patches, new instrument implementations, and new test configurations.
Workflow Improvement: Collaborate closely with laboratory management, pathologists, and technologists to analyze current state workflows and configure system enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety.
Documentation & Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and deliver training to laboratory staff and IT support teams.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated healthcare IT analyst or application support role.
Core Expertise: Must have significant, hands-on experience supporting and configuring Cerner PathNet.
Specialized Expertise: Demonstrable expertise in supporting and maintaining the Cerner BloodBank module is required.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of laboratory instrument interfaces (e.g., Data Innovations Instrument Manager), HL7 messaging, and clinical laboratory terminology/workflows.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Must possess the ability to communicate complex technical and clinical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Cerner PathNet or other relevant Cerner modules.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or a related field.
Prior experience working as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $110,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
