Job Summary

The CEO/COO will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction, operations, and performance of Vinfield's garment manufacturing and distribution activities. This role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in the garment industry, particularly in South Indian operations, including sourcing, production, and market dynamics in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. Based in Chennai, the position reports directly to the Board of Directors and will play a pivotal role in scaling the business, enhancing profitability, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

: Develop and execute long-term business strategies to drive growth, market expansion, and innovation in the garment sector. Identify opportunities for diversification, such as sustainable fabrics or e-commerce integration.

Operational Excellence

: Oversee day-to-day operations, including production planning, supply chain management, quality control, and logistics, with a strong emphasis on South Indian manufacturing hubs. Optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product turnaround times.

Financial Management

: Manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and P&L responsibility. Ensure cost-effective operations while maximizing revenue through export and domestic sales channels.

Team Building and Leadership

: Lead and mentor a high-performing team across functions like manufacturing, sales, HR, and finance. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

South Indian Operations Focus

: Leverage expertise in regional operations to strengthen supplier networks, navigate local regulations, and capitalize on labor and resource advantages in South India. Drive initiatives for workforce development and community engagement in Chennai and surrounding areas.

Compliance and Sustainability

: Ensure adherence to international labor standards (e.g., ILO), environmental regulations, and ethical practices. Promote sustainable manufacturing practices, including waste reduction and eco-friendly sourcing.

Stakeholder Management

: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, government bodies, and industry associations. Represent Vinfield at trade shows, conferences, and negotiations.

Risk Management

: Identify operational risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure business continuity in a volatile industry environment.

Performance Metrics

: Set and monitor KPIs related to production output, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and employee retention.
Qualifications and Skills

Education

: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Textile Engineering, Fashion Management, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.

Experience

: Minimum 15+ years in the garment or apparel industry, with at least 8-10 years in senior leadership roles (e.g., CEO, COO, or equivalent). Proven track record in South Indian operations, including hands-on experience in Chennai or Tamil Nadu-based manufacturing units.

Industry Knowledge

: Deep understanding of garment production processes, global supply chains, export regulations, and market trends. Familiarity with South Indian textile ecosystems, including Tirupur, Coimbatore, and Bangalore clusters.

Skills

: Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent financial acumen and strategic planning skills. Proficiency in operational tools and software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP for garment manufacturing). Outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.

Location

This position is based out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Occasional travel within South India and internationally may be required.
