JOB DESCRIPTION (MAIN JOB TASKS)
Job Purpose:
? Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of organizations mission --
specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business
process and organizational planning.
? Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services, through improvements to
each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
? Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational
excellence.
Daily Operations:
? Look after the day-to-day operations of assigned area of hospital activities.
? Full hospital daily Operational rounds must be done- with Assistant Manager Operations &; NS.
? Must meet every OPD and VC doctors twice a week in the hospital or in their respective clinic.
? Be available during peak hours between 11 am to 3 pm in OPD.
? Daily hods meeting must be done.
? Must be flexible with the work shift. It is not a typical 8 hours job. Must be available 24/7 on call
? Inventory Management.
? Centre head must operate professionally with all their sub ordinates.
? PRO's should be well in control.
? Must be on floor when OPDs are busy or when required.
? Must be Groomed properly and must set an example for others.
? Must have a control of leave policy of their subordinates.
? P & L must be managed professionally and submitted to Corporate on time.
? Ensure better customer experience. Make sure feedbacks are collected regularly.
? Admission SOP to be maintained and followed. All admissions must happen within one hour.
? Discharge SOP to be maintained and followed. All discharges to happen within 2 hours.
? Maintain EDD tracker and reduce drop outs.
? Make sure the is facility is clean, safe and organized.
? Various SOPs for billing errors, handling emergencies and other operational issues to be
maintained.
? Ensure VC doctors meet at least thrice a week.
? Seamless operations & coordination needed at unit level and with corporate team.
? Delegation of responsibility and consolidation of the same on Daily, Weekly and Monthly activities to
ensure that the service always remains on the set performance path.
? Quality MIS to track the service performance and analyze the trends.
? Streamline service activity through process mapping.
? Job allocation for various services and job rotation as per specific needs.
? To direct, supervise and coordinate functions and activities of different departments of the hospital.
? To consult with and advise departmental needs on problems related to operations of the hospitals.
? Training and development of staff on various topics like Product Knowledge, Cost Estimates etc.
? Ensuring smooth & timely billing for inpatients as well as out-patients.
? Responsible for overall management of Customer Care (Billing), Stores, F&B, IT applications.
Facility Management:
? Reviews and makes recommendations for capital budget equipment purchased and installed in the
Hospital.
? Organizes and directs the proper preventive and corrective maintenance of all building structures,
electrical, mechanical, and emergency systems in hospital facilities through the effective and efficient
use of labor and materials.
? Perform duties, as necessary, as a member of the Hospital.
? These are only a few areas which are presently defined, the role of the Operations Manager cannot be
fully defined, but in all matters the post holder must show leadership, command respect and
demonstrate a high level of commitment and ambition. All decisions must be communicated clearly
both to those responsible to the post holder and to those persons the post holder reports to.
KRA's
? Implementing plans which will help in increasing the service standards of the departments.
? Maintaining Nil or minimum downtime in its service areas.
? Ensuring that the budget targets as provided are met.
? Ensure minimum or nil dropouts of EDDs.
? Enhance NICU out born cases.
GENERAL COMPETENCIES
? Intellectual capability and a proven track record of working within the Healthcare sector at a senior
level and be able to demonstrate:
? Credibility gained from a successful track record, which will attract acceptance from clients and
company employees.
? People management skills.
? Financial awareness.
? The ability to manage complex operations, typically geographically dispersed with high service levels
being required.
? Medium - Long term planning as well as clear-sighted operational management skills
? The ability to identify opportunities for the Company.
