Roles & Responsibilities of a CCTV Technician

1. Install, configure, and test CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and related equipment.

2. Mount cameras at designated locations ensuring proper coverage and visibility.

3. Upgrade firmware/software for NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras.

4. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of CCTV systems.

5. Diagnose technical faults and repair/replace faulty cameras, cabling, or devices.

6. Provide user support for operating the CCTV system.

7. Set up remote viewing on desktops, mobile devices, and control rooms.

8. Configure IP cameras and integrate them with LAN/WAN networks.

9. Ensure CCTV systems are working efficiently and recording properly.
