Job Description

A CCTV technician installs, maintains, and repairs closed-circuit television systems, including cameras, DVRs, and NVRs. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, conducting site surveys, running cables, configuring network settings, and providing technical support to clients. Core responsibilities

Installation and setup:

Mounting cameras, running cables, and setting up digital video recorders (DVRs) or network video recorders (NVRs).

Maintenance and repair:

Conducting regular inspections, performing necessary repairs, and upgrading existing systems to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with cameras, software, and related hardware.

System configuration:

Setting up network settings and programming systems to meet specific security requirements.

Site surveys:

Assessing security needs for new installations to determine the most effective and appropriate system design.

Client support:

Providing training to clients on system usage and offering ongoing technical support for both hardware and software issues.

Documentation:

Recording installation processes, configurations, and maintenance activities for future reference.
Essential skills and knowledge

Technical knowledge of various CCTV systems, such as analog, digital, dome, and bullet cameras. Ability to work with basic computer systems and network configurations. Understanding of electrical wiring and cable termination. Strong problem-solving skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow safety protocols and industry standards.
