of experience to be responsible for the end-to-end implementation and maintenance of advanced
IP-based Video Surveillance Systems (VSS)
and their underlying network infrastructure. This role is crucial for projects in specialized environments such as
railway, critical infrastructure, or industrial sectors
, and demands a strong blend of expertise in both video technology and IP networking to ensure highly reliable, secure, and optimized system performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Installation, Commissioning & Configuration
Lead the
installation, configuration, and commissioning
of core CCTV components, including IP cameras, encoders, decoders, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), and dedicated video management servers.
Configure and fine-tune proprietary Video Management Systems (VMS)
such as
Milestone, Genetec
, or other industry-standard platforms.
Integrate the CCTV system
with external subsystems, including Access Control, Public Address (PA), Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (PIDS), or central command and control servers.
Execute precise
camera positioning, field-of-view adjustments, and lens selection
to strictly meet the detailed design and operational coverage requirements.
2. Networking & IP Integration
Configure and manage network infrastructure
components (switches, routers, firewalls) dedicated to the VSS network.
Perform
IP address management, VLAN segmentation, and Quality of Service (QoS)
configuration to prioritize CCTV traffic and guarantee sufficient network throughput and low latency for video streams.
Collaborate effectively with client/internal IT and network teams
to establish secure, redundant, and compliant communication paths between field devices and central monitoring/storage facilities.
Diagnose and resolve complex network-related issues
impacting video stream performance, including connectivity failures, bandwidth bottlenecks, and high latency.
3. Testing, Documentation & Handover
Execute rigorous
Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
in accordance with approved project test procedures and client specifications.
Conduct detailed testing for video quality, alarm/event integration, system redundancy, and failover mechanisms.
Prepare high-quality technical documentation
, including detailed testing reports, configuration logs, operational manuals, and
As-Built system drawings and network diagrams
.
Facilitate the successful
system handover
to client operations and maintenance teams, providing necessary training and support.
4. Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Compliance
Execute scheduled
preventive maintenance (PM)
and timely
corrective maintenance (CM)
on CCTV equipment, VMS software, and related network hardware.
Rapidly
diagnose and resolve system failures
, focusing on video loss, NVR/VMS server stability, and component malfunctions.
Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and vendors for essential
firmware updates, security patches, and hardware replacements
.
Ensure all installations and maintenance activities
comply with project specifications, IT security policies, and relevant industry safety standards
.
