Master's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, Applied, or Educational).
OR, Master's in Social Work (with specialization in mental health or counseling).
OR, Graduate/Post Graduate in any subject with a Diploma in School Counseling or Child Guidance and Counseling.
Mandatory Training:
The counselor must complete a 50-hour CBSE-recognized training programme.

Conducting counseling for students and parents, handling crisis situations, and identifying mental health concerns.

Providing academic and vocational counseling for students in Classes IX to XII.
