Global Finance & Business Management ("GF&BM") India is a combined Line of Business-aligned (LOB-aligned) finance & business support team located in India and is part of JPMorgan's global capability center (GCC). We are part of the Office of the CFO (OCFO) organization within JPMorgan, which has 13000+ people across the globe, majority of whom are tasked with managing the firm's Finance function, responsible for reporting quarterly earnings and complying with regulatory requirements along with managing the firm's capital.

GF&BM India was established in September 2002 and currently we have a network of more than 3400+ professionals based out of our Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices who support four main "pillars" of work - Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations and Business Client & Products. The teams in India are aligned to the respective LOBs that they support which include Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Commercial Banking (CB), Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) and Corporate/Firmwide functions. The current opening is within the Global Services team in Bangalore which forms part of the Commercial Banking (CB) LOB within GF&BM India.

About the Team

At JPMorgan Chase, Commercial Banking ("CB") is a top provider of banking services to wholesale clients from small businesses to large, complex businesses with domestic and international needs. CB is comprised of Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries (CCBSI), Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI), Real Estate Banking, Commercial Term Lending and Community Development Banking. Commercial Banking is making significant investments across our business to improve how we interact with our clients in every way.

The Data Analytics Analyst will join the CB Global Finance and Business Management organization, assisting with data & management reporting development agenda for regulatory operations. The candidate will learn core business processes, build new data mart capabilities, develop metrics/management reporting, and provide decision support via ad hoc reporting and data analytics

In particular, the CB Global Services team functions as an internal business & metrics reporting and analytics group responsible for delivering highly quantitative and qualitative reports and analytics tools that support bankers, salespeople, and senior management agendas.

The Data Analytics Analyst on the team will have the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that help drive profitability and efficiency across the Commercial Banking organization. The Data Analytics Analyst will be responsible for assisting the business in ongoing development and maintenance of BI tools, data management, data analytics and reporting & analysis.

About the Role

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define, monitor, and report key managements metrics around the health of an operations program
  • Manage a high-volume and high-complexity reporting & dashboarding book of work, leveraging rigorous project management discipline
  • Partner with senior leaders in advancing the business analysis and reporting agenda, focused on insights delivery in areas around operational efficiency, cost modeling, capacity planning, quality enhancements, etc.
  • Define, design, and drive high priority strategic initiatives with senior level visibility in areas above - ranging from delivering business initiatives to engineering enabling capabilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of systems and processes in order to extract insights from existing data while identifying and recommending IT enhancements to improve data quality
  • Develop strong partnerships with IT application owners and data management teams to align on a roadmap for continual improvement while providing support around in-flight projects
Desired Candidate Profile:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in financial services or commercial banking
  • Ability to understand business problems/processes and design solutions/methodologies that are rooted in data
  • Need hands on experience with
  • Programming languages: SQL, Python/R
  • Data visualization tool: QlikSense/Tableau/PowerBI
  • Analytical tools, e.g., Alteryx
  • Knowledge of Distributed file systems, e.g., Hadoop, Hive
  • Ability to design and execute repeatable and scalable data solutions (extraction / mining / modeling / visualization)
  • Effectively communicate insights/recommendations (verbal and written)
  • Exposure and experience with designing and building machine learning algorithms
  • Team player with a demonstrated strong work ethic.
  • BE; advanced study / engineering background / quantitative focus a plus
