, and ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and aesthetic requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop
interior and exterior plastic trim components
using
CATIA V5
.
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with
GD&T
per automotive standards.
Perform
packaging studies
and ensure proper integration with surrounding vehicle components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Styling, Manufacturing, Tooling, and Suppliers) to ensure design feasibility.
Support
design reviews
, DVPs, BOM creation, ECRs/ECNs and DFMEA documentation.
Release and manage design data using
PLM platforms (Teamcenter preferred)
.
Participate in prototype development and issue resolution throughout product development lifecycle.
Ensure timely delivery of design outputs in line with program schedules and milestones.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years of experience
in plastic trim design using
CATIA V5
.
Strong knowledge of
plastic part design standards
, materials, and manufacturing processes (injection molding, etc.).
Proficient in
GD&T
, drafting standards, and tolerance stack-up.
Experience with
PLM systems
such as
Teamcenter
for data management.
