Job Description

Prepare the Cath Lab for procedures, ensuring all required instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and sterile. Scrub in and assist the cardiologist/interventionalist during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, pacemaker insertions, and other cardiac interventions. Handle and anticipate the needs for instruments, catheters, guidewires, and other devices. Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and comfort throughout the procedure. Maintain accurate documentation of the procedure, medications used, and supplies consumed. Ensure adherence to radiation safety and infection control standards. Assist with the safe transfer of the patient to the recovery area or designated unit. Provide post-procedural nursing care and monitor for complications. Participate in cleaning, restocking, and preparing the lab for the next case. Document and report any adverse events or equipment issues. Participate in emergency procedures (e.g., cardiac arrest management). Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Maintain current knowledge of Cath Lab procedures, equipment, and nursing best practices. Comply with all hospital policies, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards. Engage in continuous professional development and training. Verify patient identity and procedure details; ensure informed consent is obtained. Assess and prepare patients for procedures, including pre-procedure education and baseline vital signs. Assist with setting up the sterile field and maintaining aseptic technique.
