Job Description

? Assist cardiologists during angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and other interventional procedures.

? Prepare, position, and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.

? Handle sterile instruments, catheters, and devices as per protocol.

? Operate cath lab machines (imaging systems, hemodynamic monitoring, contrast injectors, etc.).

? Ensure accurate real-time monitoring of patient vitals during procedures.

? Calibrate, clean, and maintain cath lab equipment regularly.

? Explain procedures to patients and obtain necessary consent.

? Ensure strict adherence to infection control and radiation safety measures.

? Respond quickly to emergencies and assist in resuscitation if needed.

? Maintain patient procedure reports, device usage records, and consumable stock.

? Record and update data in Hospital Information System (HIS) / EMR.

? Assist in audit and compliance documentation for NABH/JCI standards.

? Work closely with cardiologists, anesthetists, nurses, and biomedical staff.

? Support cath lab scheduling, preparation, and smooth workflow.

? Coordinate with vendors for consumables, devices, and equipment servicing

Educational Qualifications

Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Cath Lab Technology Certification/Training in Cath Lab procedures, ECG, BLS & ACLS (preferred).

Experience

1-3 years' experience as a Cath Lab Technician in a hospital. Hands-on experience in angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, stent procedures, and other interventional cardiology procedures.

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of Cath Lab equipment, cardiac procedures, and sterile techniques. Ability to assist cardiologists during invasive procedures. Skilled in patient preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care. Knowledge of radiation safety, infection control, and emergency response protocols. Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS), EMR, and procedure documentation. Good communication skills for patient interaction and team coordination.
