Job Summary



The Cath Lab Nurse is responsible for assisting in cardiac catheterization procedures, monitoring patient conditions, ensuring safety protocols, and supporting cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities



Assess and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. Verify patient identity, medical history, consents, and required pre-procedure tests. Educate patients and families about procedure steps and post-procedure care.

During Procedure



Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, pacemaker implantation, etc. Prepare and handle sterile instruments, catheters, contrast media, and equipment. Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout the procedure. Monitor patient vital signs, ECG, oxygen levels, and hemodynamic status. Administer medications as directed by the physician. Document procedural details accurately.

Post-Procedure Care



Transfer and monitor patients in recovery. Assess vascular access sites for bleeding or complications. Provide post-procedure instructions to patients and attendants. Manage emergency situations such as arrhythmias, hypotension, or allergic reactions.

Equipment & Inventory Management



Ensure all cath lab equipment is clean, calibrated, and functioning properly. Assist in set-up and operation of imaging systems, hemodynamic monitors, and defibrillators. Maintain inventory of supplies (catheters, gloves, contrast, medications, etc.) Report any equipment malfunction to biomedical/engineering teams.

Documentation & Reporting



Maintain accurate nursing notes, procedure logs, and patient records. Update patient charts with medications, vital signs, and procedural details. Report patient conditions and outcomes to the medical team.

Safety & Compliance



Follow hospital infection control and safety standards at all times. Ensure radiation protection protocols for patients and staff. Participate in audits, quality improvement programs, and emergency drills.

Team Collaboration



Work closely with cardiologists, technicians, anesthesiologists, and other nurses. Support team members during emergencies or complex cases. Participate in cath lab meetings and training sessions.

Pay: ?22,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
