A Cath Lab Scrub Nurse assists doctors and the cardiac care team during cardiac catheterization and other interventional heart procedures in the Cath Lab.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain a
sterile field
and set up instruments & equipment before procedures.
Assist the cardiologist during procedures (e.g., angiography, angioplasty, stent placement) by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
Monitor patients' vital signs and condition during the procedure and help respond to any emergent changes.
Prepare patients for procedures (e.g., check identity, equipment, comfort) and provide post-procedure care as needed.
Ensure infection control and aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
Accurately
document
patient status, procedure details, medications, and instruments used.
Coordinate with other Cath Lab staff (doctors, nurses, technicians) for smooth workflow.
Qualification Required : Bsc Nursing or DGNM or Relavant qualifications
Experience : 2 to 5 years
