strategic and high-energy Category Manager

Role Overview
The Category Manager will be responsible for
end-to-end ownership of assigned product categories
, including sales performance, vendor coordination, pricing, promotions, and in-store execution. The role demands a strong commercial mindset, analytical ability, and passion to scale categories in a competitive retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Category & Business Management
Own category P&L, sales targets, and growth plans
Drive category-wise revenue, margins, and inventory turnover
Analyze sales data, trends, and consumer behavior to optimize assortment
Ensure right product mix, pricing, and availability across stores
Sales & Marketing Collaboration
Plan and execute category-level promotions, schemes, and launches
Work closely with Sales & Store teams to improve conversions and upselling
Coordinate with Marketing for digital campaigns, and in-store branding
Track promotion effectiveness and improve ROI
Vendor & Brand Management
Manage relationships with leading brands, suppliers, and distributors
Negotiate commercials, schemes, and marketing support
Ensure timely launches, replenishment, and stock discipline
Execution & Reporting
Monitor store execution, VM standards, and staff product knowledge
Train store teams on category features, benefits, and selling points
Prepare MIS, forecasts, and performance reports for management
Candidate Profile
MBA in Retail / Marketing / Sales
(Mandatory)
Minimum
5+ years of experience as Category Manager
with a
leading retail chain / reputed group
Strong exposure to
beauty, lifestyle, or organized retail categories
Proven track record of
driving category growth and profitability
Analytical, commercially sharp, and execution-focused
Key Skills & Attributes
