Develop and execute buying strategies for assigned categories to achieve sales, margin, and inventory targets.
Identify and source new suppliers, negotiate pricing, and establish long-term vendor relationships.
Conduct regular
market and competitor analysis
to identify trends, new fabrics, and consumer preferences.
Plan and manage
seasonal assortments
--from product selection to pricing and stock allocation.
Coordinate with
design, merchandising, and marketing teams
to ensure cohesive product stories and launches.
Conduct
buying visits
and supplier meetings to review collections and assess product quality.
Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and adjust buying plans accordingly.
Ensure
timely product shoot samples
and support the
e-commerce and retail teams
with product-related information.
Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to track product deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate buying records, purchase orders, and budgets.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of
fashion retail, trends, and consumer behavior
(preferably ethnic wear).
Excellent
negotiation and vendor management
skills.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in
Excel, MIS reporting, and inventory analysis
.
Strong coordination and communication skills across departments.
Ability to handle multiple categories or sub-brands simultaneously.
