Core Duties:

Receiving payments

: Accepting cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and sometimes checks.

Issuing receipts

: Providing proof of purchase to customers.

Giving change

: Returning the correct amount of money when a customer pays with cash.

Balancing the cash register

: Ensuring the till matches recorded transactions at the beginning and end of shifts.

Processing returns and exchanges

: Following store policies for refunding or exchanging items.
Additional Responsibilities:

Customer service

: Answering questions, greeting customers, and sometimes handling complaints or issues.

Upselling

: Occasionally encouraging customers to buy additional products or services.

Maintaining a clean work area

Scanning items
