The cashier is the face of the billing counter, responsible for handling customer transactions, maintaining accuracy in cash management, and ensuring a warm, efficient guest experience. This role blends hospitality with precision and requires someone who thrives in a fast?paced dhaba-style environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Billing & POS Operations: Manage order billing, operate POS systems, and issue receipts accurately.
Cash & Payment Handling: Process cash, UPI, card payments, and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
Order Coordination: Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are processed smoothly.
Customer Interaction: Greet guests, answer menu queries, and resolve basic concerns politely.
Record Keeping: Maintain daily sales reports, payment logs, and shift summaries.
Clean & Organized Counter: Keep the billing area tidy, hygienic, and presentable.
Compliance & Policies: Follow restaurant SOPs, safety rules, and cash-handling guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
Basic computer & POS knowledge
Strong communication skills (Hindi/Bengali/English depending on location)
Attention to detail
Customer?service mindset
Ability to work under pressure during peak hours
Prior cashier or hospitality experience (preferred but not mandatory)
